The 3D Blu-ray provides some nice depth and dimensionality, while the 2D Blu-ray has both great picture and on a PS3, as much of a Dolby Atmos mix as your system can handle.

This really should give you surround audio from the Roku, and it will improve the surround from your DVD player. You need two optical cables.
