Northerly Island is a 91-acre, man-made peninsula along Chicago's Lake Michigan lakefront. The site of Adler Planetarium, east of Soldier Field, Shedd Aquarium and Field Museum, it connects to the mainland through a narrow isthmus along Solidarity Drive, which is dominated by Neoclassical sculptures of Tadeusz Kosciuszko, Karel Havlicek Borovsky and Copernicus.
Dec 14, 2017 · Northerly Island . Due to a recent fire, and for the safety of our patrons and park staff, the Northerly Island Park Fieldhouse is closed to the public with limited access to emergency staff only as we assess damage, and make necessary repairs. The park is open for leisure use.
