The campus of Tsinghua University is situated in northwest Beijing on the site of the former imperial gardens of the Qing Dynasty, and surrounded by a number of historical sites. Tsinghua University was established in 1911, originally under the name “Tsing Hua Imperial College”. The school was renamed "Tsing Hua College" in 1912.
Tsinghua University offers Bachelor degrees with duration of 4 years, except for Architecture and Sculpture which are 5 years, and Clinical Medicine，Pure and Applied Mathematics（Yau Mathematical Sciences Leaders Program）which is 8 years. In 2012, the Graduate School of the People's Bank of China (PBC) merged into Tsinghua University as Tsinghua University PBC School of Finance. Today, Tsinghua has become a world-leading comprehensive university that offers subject areas in engineering, science, economics, management, art, medicine, philosophy, law,literature, history and education.
International Student Apartments of Tsinghua University was established in 2004. It is located in the northeast corner of the campus, close to the northeast gate of the university (Zijing Gate). The on-campus apartments include Zijing Student Apartment Buildings NO. 19-23 and Student Apartment Building 6 (Asian Youth Center).
