Using the Formatting Toolbar. You can control justification/alignment of a paragraph by clicking on the following buttons on the Formatting Toolbar. Left-Justify — leaves a ragged right edge to the paragraph (like a typewriter would). Center — centers the text on each line. Right-Justify — aligns the text even with the right-hand margin.

While reading through my writing, my teacher suggested I justify my text, as opposed to left-aligning it, as this looks neater. I agree, finding it looks much better; however, after looking around, many people stated that the justification of text makes it much harder to read.

Justified text, when well executed (upper), creates a sense of symmetry, formality, and emphasis. The same text set rag right (lower) looks fine, but doesn’t convey the same sense of importance.
