It is an experience in which you live your education through small total school size, students being responsible for all aspects of caring for the campus, dedicated times each week for work projects, an all-school trip to international and national cities to study subjects that are important to the students and to where they are visiting.

Feb 26, 2024 · The Clark's prospective purchase of Buxton's property in Williamstown had upset some of the school's alumni, who were criticizing not only the sale, but also the school's leadership. The school planned to sell its land to The Clark and have it leased back in order to continue running and stay financially solvent, and The Clark hoped to preserve the open space near its campus.
Each term, Buxton hosts a “project day,” where students can devote a whole day to a personal project of their choice. Past student projects have included painting murals in the Main House, making wooden benches for the soccer fields, putting on a play in a day, working in Buxton’s herb garden, and more!
Buxton Public School is situated on Hassall Road at the northern extent of the village. Secondary school students travel by bus to Picton High School, Wollondilly Anglican College, or to schools in the Southern Highlands, e.g. Bowral High School and Chevalier College. Buxton Public School has an enrolment of approximately 200 students.
Buxton School offers its gorgeous campus during the summer months for residencies, workshops, conferences, weddings, and special events. The campus, a 120-acre, former estate nestled in the beautiful Berkshires of western Massachusetts, boasts modern facilities, three dormitories with rustic, New England charm (accommodating up to 90 overnight guests) and scenic, mountain views.
