Patrick Sarsfield, 1st Earl of Lucan, Irish: Pádraig Sáirseál, circa 1655 to 21 August 1693, was an Irish soldier, and leading figure in the Jacobite army during the 1689 to 1691 Williamite War in Ireland. While contemporaries universally acknowledged his courage, opinions of his judgement and intelligence were mixed.

The fifth baronet married a grand-daughter of Patrick Sarsfield, Earl of Lucan, who fell at Linden, in 1693. Lord Lucan was a representative Peer for Ireland. He was a Knight of the Legion of Honour and of the Medjidieh (5th Class). The son of the third Earl and Ann, daughter of of the sixth Earl of Cardigan, he was born on May 8th, 1830.
