1985. 7.1 (54) This movie follows Carmen. She is unmarried and pregnant. Her cousin Stella wants her to have an abortion. Jerry who is the father also wants her to abort the baby. Her landlay Juling suggests that she keep the baby because an abortion is against the will go God. Carmen sees people all around her struggling to feed their children.
If I'm being honest, incomplete: I saw the 72-minute TV cut, which omits so much plot it barely counts as a movie. But! Lots of good stuff in even this bastardized version, with Bernal really calling out the men for their irresponsibility here (and ties it into the economic crisis--it's the same root cause, immature men not taking others into consideration).
