Rico Blanco was born in Manila, Philippines on March 17, 1975. He grew up listening to classic rock bands like Queen and Led Zeppelin. When he was in high school, he formed a band called Xaga with some of his classmates. He went on to attend college at the University of the Philippines where he majored in Communication Arts.
