The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square, formerly known as the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, is an American choir, acting as part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). It has performed in the Salt Lake Tabernacle for over 100 years. The Tabernacle houses an organ, consisting of 11,623 pipes, which usually accompanies the choir.
The Choir also sought to reach the rising generation in the Philippines. Some 50 youth performed with popular singer-songwriter Ysabelle Cuevas, singing “If You Believe,” a song about belief in Jesus Christ. “Singing with The Tabernacle Choir has always been a dream of mine, so everything last night was just perfect,” Cuevas said.

The Choir’s weekly broadcast—Music & the Spoken Word—which began in 1929—is the world’s longest continuing network broadcast. The Salt Lake Tabernacle on Temple Square has been the home of the Choir since 1867.
In 2018 the Choir changed its official name from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir to The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square in response to Church President Russell M. Nelson’s request to drop the word “Mormon” from the names of Church-sponsored organizations in an inspired effort to use the correct name of the Lord’s Church. 14. Church Resources
