On top of the fifteen subjects in the core curriculum, the remaining sixteen subjects are spread over the 4 Senior High School (SHS) tracks: 1) Academic, 2) Arts and Design, 3) Sports, and 4) Technical-Vocational-Livelihood. Students are expected to enroll in the track of their choice.

May 1, 2016 · Senior high school (SHS) refers to Grades 11 and 12, the last two years of the K-12 program that DepEd has been implementing since 2012. Students begin to study in SHS the subjects that will introduce them to their preferred career path. High school in the old system consisted of First Year to Fourth Year.
Senior high school stretches over two academic years — grades 11 and 12 — composed of two semesters each. Each semester is subdivided into 29 mandatory and 2 elective subjects that each take 80 hours to complete (with the exception of PE and Health which only take 20 hours each).
