Lastimosa was born in Dumaguete as the fifth out of six children. His mother is a wet market vendor while his father is a tricycle driver. When he was younger, Lastimosa would play in panalay tournaments.
Lastimosa comes from a family of basketball players. He's the son of former PABL player Danny Lastimosa, brother of the former captain of the UST women's volleyball team, Pamela Lastimosa, and nephew of PBA Legend and three-time Mythical Team awardee, Jojo Lastimosa.
