As far as Waseda's reputation goes, it's pretty well regarded as a university for it's economics and a few other programs. And most employers will look pretty positively at it when you're looking for a job. The students party a fair bit. Their sports teams are pretty good.

I don't know how familiar you are with East Asian culture but what undergraduate university you got into after grueling studying and prepping for 12 years of your childhood and taking a rigorous national entrance exam is what defines you in the eyes of society.
Not going to be at Waseda, but I will be studying abroad in Tokyo at a different university from September to January. Would also be interested in meeting up with/chatting with people from Reddit.
