Geography[edit] Jaro is the largest district in Iloilo City, spanning 27.48 square kilometres (10.61 sq mi) of total land area. It is about 3.86 kilometres (2.40 mi) from Iloilo City Proper. Jaro borders the districts of Mandurriao to the southwest and La Paz to the southeast.

Nov 29, 2023 · Graciano Lopez Jaena was born on December 18, 1856 in Jaro, Iloilo. An aunt of mine, Tita Estela Montinola, who lived in Jaro and was a historian herself once pointed out the site of Jaena’s birthplace at 7 Fajardo Street, just two blocks from the Jaro Cathedral. Jaena’s parents were Placido Lopez and Maria Jacobo Jaena.
