May 28, 2018 · In the Catholic tradition, Santacruzan or what we also known as Flores de Mayo has always been part of the month of May. This is a re-enactment of finding the True Cross, the cross where Jesus died and which was found by Reyna Elena.
The procession is in the honor of Reyna Elena, Helena of Constantinople and Constantine the Great in finding the True Cross in Jerusalem. The photos for this year's Santacruzan was taken in San Dionisio, Parañaque in the southern part of Metro Manila.

The Santacruzan (from the Spanish santa cruz, "holy cross") is the ritual pageant held on the last day of the Flores de Mayo. It honours the finding of the True Cross by Helena of Constantinople (known as Reyna Elena) and Constantine the Great.
