On the album Morning View, Mike only used his PRS McCarty Archtops. During the A Crow Left of the Murder... tour, he started playing Fender Jazzmaster guitars. This guitar is played most prominently on the Alive at Red Rocks DVD.

In 2004 a long time PRS employee stole and sold around $250K worth of guitars from the shop. Among them were guitars owned by Faith Hill, Incubus, and Nickelback. Apr 15, 2024 · While the Incubus instrumentalist was frequently seen playing various PRS guitars, including this Silver Sparkle Standard and a PRS Hollowbody II in the early 2000’s, Einziger apparently cut his endorsement with PRS after a dispute with an employee who worked for the guitar giant.
Mike Einziger's main guitar for live performances from 1999 to 2000 was his PRS McCarty Silver guitar. A good view of it can be seen at 0:15 in the music video for "Pardon Me." You can also catch little glimpses of it in the live performance of "New Skin" at SnoCore, from 2000.

PRS has 4 different types of hollow bodies with McCarty shapes. Archtop: the thicker body, Spruce top, mahogany body. Archtop II: the thicker body, maple top and back.
