Cynthia Aguilar Villar (Tagalog pronunciation:, born Cynthia Ampaya Aguilar on July 29, 1950) is a Filipina politician currently serving as a Senator of the Philippines. She was a member of the House of Representatives for the Lone District of Las Piñas from 2001 to 2010 before winning a seat in the Senate in 2013, placing tenth.
In the 2019 National Elections, Cynthia Villar run and won anew as senator. She was proclaimed as the Number One Senator having garnered a total of 25,283,727 votes, which is unprecedented for a senatorial post in the country.
In 2001, Cynthia Villar won in a landslide victory as Representative of Las Piñas to the Philippine’s House of Representatives, where she completed three terms or nine years of service until 2010. She was Chairman of Committee on Higher and Technical Education during the 13th and 14th congress.
