Fredric March (born Ernest Frederick McIntyre Bickel; August 31, 1897 – April 14, 1975) was an American actor, regarded as one of Hollywood's most celebrated stars of the 1930s and 1940s. [1] [2] As a performer he was known for his versatility.

One of the greatest stars of the 30's, Fredric March was excellent and prolific and made many excellent movies in the decade. His transition to the 40's through the 70's even elevated his stature in film, with memorable characterizations including The Best Years of Our Lives, Death of a Saleman, and Inherit the Wind.
