On becoming a practicing photographer David Comora (b. 1969) has come to believe the most beautiful thing about art is making it, and what intrigues him is its never-ending supply. Primarily an “intuitive walk-about” photographer, his work is his reflection, the subject – his act of observing.
This selection of images from the past 25 years—fleeting moments, details, landscapes, reflections, and shadows—is my response after existing within my own space, between here and there, a place that gave me the autonomy to find fresh patterns, relationships, and paths forward.

Jun 7, 2023 · In a photographic reverie by David Comora, we’re out of the city, but we’re not in the wild. We’re in-between, in the cultivated space where human life and wildlife can sometimes be together. A whitetail, who may reside very near, is mid-stride in the middle of the frame.
My practice focuses on bookmaking and project photography. Utilizing a range of styles and techniques, and influenced by masters from many creative disciplines, I view photography as a reflection: my concern is less about a given subject, more my reaction to it. I enjoy making objects.
