William George Ranald Mundell "Ran" Laurie (4 May 1915 – 19 September 1998) was an English physician, Olympic rowing champion and gold medallist. He was the father of actor Hugh Laurie.
Dr Ran Laurie was a gold medal-winning rower in the 1948 Olympics and a colonial doctor in the Sudan. He also coached the Cambridge Boat Race crews and was a Henley umpire and committee member.

Ran Laurie, who was educated at Monkton Combe and Selwyn College, Cambridge, established a fine reputation as stroke when he was an undergraduate. He was in the winning Cambridge eight for three successive years and in the last two years, 1935 and 1936, he was the stroke.
