I have a problem with my 2002 Mitsubishi Montero Sport brake system I hoped to get some help with. The brake system seems to work fine with transmission in forward but in reverse however, when backing VERY SLOWLY (as in parallel parking speed), there is sometimes a VERY loud sound (imagine a ship's fog horn) that seems to come from nowhere and continues until you stop the vehicle.

For the past year, I had been having the same problem with my 4WD light blinking then the "Anti lock" light turns on after a couple of miles driving. Bought the part (MR263723 Freewhell clutch solenoid valve) at my local Mits. dealership for $92 (tax included) plus $110 labor, done! problem was fixed. Thanks again.

Some radio codes are on top of the radio, and can be seen by removing the fascia trim (aka bezel) surrounding the radio - often you can read the number without having to pull the radio out at all. Usually the surrounds pop off with a butter knife and removing some screws from the fascia. gfwynn Member Posts: 3.

The check engine light on my 2001 Mitsubishi Montero Sport turned on and a couple of days later the vehicle tremble, and surged and shut off when I came to a traffic stop. This happened twice, after that the auto drove normally. A day later the car would not move past 3-5 miles an hour and the transmition seem to slip.

OUR EXPERIENCE: We've had similar problems with my wife's 2000 Montero Sport XLS. It does have 166K miles on it, but we have maintained it extremely well with 30k, 60k, 90k, 120k & 150K service maintenance and were hoping to get 200 - 250K. Nine months ago, Sept 2006, we had to replace the battery and alternator.
