Robert Noyce © Kilby and Noyce were electrical engineers who in the late 1950s, working separately, invented the integrated circuit, better known as the microchip.
Today, Noyce and Kilby are usually regarded as co-inventors of the integrated circuit, although Kilby was inducted into the Inventor's Hall of Fame as the inventor. In any event, Noyce is credited with improving the integrated circuit for its many applications in the field of microelectronics.
