The ArriveCAN app asks for a contact number (i.e. mobile number). Apparently, the reason for asking mobile number is to contact new immigrant during 14 days quarantine period. Can somebody tell me how a new immigrant who arrives at Canadian airport can give mobile number of Canada as required...
Feb 17, 2024 · But the very short and simplified version is that during the COVID, the Canadian Government moved to develop an app to manage stuff like mandatory declarations on COVID status, etc. That contract was awarded to a contracted firm (and additional contractors working on it) and the end result was an app called ArriveCan.

Dec 14, 2021 · Completed the ArriveCAN but didn't know that the receipt was supposed to show an A, I, or V beside your name to confirm you as exempt from quarantine. I confirmed my dose dates and uploaded a photo of proof, the app just didn't register it or something.
