I’m struggling to understand the significance of Paul within the story (although I really enjoyed him as a character). In his introduction, it seemed like they were foreshadowing that he would cause the family harm.

It depicts how they struggle with different things like money, chasing their dreams, adapting to the new place and their own relationships. The story is beautiful and the movie is as good as the trailer shows.
May 1, 2021 · The Minari When the Grandma and David were singing the Minari song in the woods, the Grandma said something like “doesnt matter whether your rich, poor, they will always grow!”. I think the Minari is supposed to represent family. It doesnt need a ton of maintenance to grow and will grow beautifully even in colder damper places.
Apr 17, 2021 · Yeah I mean you can totally skip the minari, anything fragrant is a good time. A good standard addition is also gat, mustard greens. But there's no reason you can't go with other herbs like cilantro, parsley, even basil or mint. It just gives it another herby level of depth.
Jan 11, 2024 · Not a lot happens in Minari, nothing incredibly note worthy stands out (except the end) but I think that is the beauty in its simplicity. It is the underrepresented migrant experience portrayed through a feel-good family drama that makes it palatable for those privileged to have grown up in western countries.
