José Palma y Velásquez (Spanish: [xoˈse ˈpalma]: June 3, 1876 – February 12, 1903) was a Filipino poet and soldier. He was on the staff of La independencia at the time he wrote "Filipinas", a patriotic poem in Spanish.
Si Jose Palma ay isang makata at sundalong Pilipino. Siya ay naging tanyag sa pagsulat niya ng Filipinas, na naging titik ng pambansang awit ng Pilipinas. Siya ay isinilang sa Tondo, Maynila noong 6 Hunyo, 1876. Siya ay kapatid ni Rafael Palma na naging pangulo ng Unibersidad ng Pilipinas.
On June 3, 1876, Jose Palma, famous poet who wrote the lyrics of the Philippine national anthem, was born in Tondo, Manila. He was the youngest child of Don Hermogenes Palma and Hilaria Velasquez.
