(born 1932), US politician, civil rights leader, and clergyman; full name Andrew Jackson Young, Jr. He served in various capacities with the Southern Christian Leadership Conference 1964–70 before becoming a Democratic representative from Georgia in the US Congress 1973–77. He was the US ambassador to the United Nations 1977–79 and mayor of Atlanta 1982–90.
