Jan 1, 2002 · Jose Maria Flores Lacaba, Jr., better known as Jose F. Lacaba and Pete Lacaba, is a Filipino poet, journalist, and screenwriter. He was conferred the Aruna Vasudev Lifetime Achievement Award for Writing on Cinema during 10th Osian's Cinefan Festival held in New Delhi, India on 11 July 2008.
Days of Disquiet, Nights of Rage: The First Quarter Storm & Related Events is a landmark book by Jose F. Lacaba on the Philippine protest movement of the 1960s and 70s. Considered as a standard reference on the subject, the book compiles his previously published articles in the Philippines Free Press and the Asia-Pacific Leader.
Jose F. Lacaba, born in1945, is the youngest of the three poets. He wrote journalism in English in the sixties, having abandoned college and gone to work as a copy editor and proof-reader at the Philippines Free Press.
