Now nonsectarian in nature, Marist College is home to approximately 4,900 traditional undergraduate men and women, 1,000 graduate students, and 400 adult students. In 1947, the first graduating class of modern-day Marist College consisted of four Marist Brothers. Today, more than 48,000 alumni and alumnae call Marist alma mater.
The Master of Science Computer Science/Software Development program at Marist College was founded in the 1990s, serving its primary mission of exposing students to graduate-level studies in software development. The MSCS program aims to provide students with a deep understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of computing.
The three-story structure overlooks the campus green and Hudson River on the west, and "Heritage Plaza,” which connects historic 19th-century buildings and the college chapel, on the east. The Cannavino Library offers a variety of different seating areas to accommodate individual and group studying.
For over fifteen years, Marist has created a top Summer Pre-College program that gives students a sense of college life, provides a taste of a college major, and allows students to earn college credit all while still in high school. This year, we've expanded our offerings into three sessions: two on our beautiful riverfront campus, and one virtual.
Marist College continues to shine in the Scholarship Examinations offered at the end of Year 13. Candidates for these scholarships are drawn from a range of differing qualification systems. Thus, our relative success at this level is evidence to us that learning and assessment under NCEA is both robust and comparable.

The College was founded by the Marist Brothers, who first arrived in Poughkeepsie in 1905. The Marist Brothers are famous for their skill and dedication as educators and, even though Marist has not been religiously affiliated for many years, their values remain central to what the College stands for.
