Jul 10, 2021 · During the late 1930s, Polaroid developed a range of products based on Land’s sheet polariser, including a 3D movie system first demonstrated in 1939 at the New York World’s Fair. In 1940, and with investors lining up for a slice of the action, Land adopted the Polaroid name for his rapidly growing company – Polaroid Corporation was born.

The exhibit, a photographic tour from the company’s fledgling days to its metamorphosis into a major corporation, features original patent documents, personal photographs, marketing materials, news releases, a well-preserved pair of Polaroid variable day glasses, and, of course, the Polaroid Land Camera Model 95.
Dec 28, 2021 · The name of Polaroid as well as almost all of the company’s assets was sold to one of Bank One’s subsidiaries. This also gave birth to a new company known as the Polaroid Corporation. Polaroid’s cameras were discontinued in 2007 and, due to a second bankruptcy filing in 2008, the production of the famous Polaroid instant film stopped in 2009.

He invented inexpensive filters for polarizing light, a practical system of in-camera instant photography, and the retinex theory of color vision, among other things.
