From his breakout role on "St. Elsewhere" to films like "This is Spinal Tap," and his environmental activism.
His father, character actor Ed Begley, won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for 1962's Sweet Bird of Youth. Attended the same high school as Robert Redford, Paula Abdul, Stacy Keach and Natalie Wood. Made his TV debut in a 1967 episode of My Three Sons. Directed a 2003 episode of NYPD Blue; has also worked as an assistant cameraman and stand-up comic.
Begley, Jr. was born on September 16, 1949 in Los Angeles, California [1] to Ed Begley, Sr. and to Allene Jeanne Sanders. He studied at Notre Dame High School and at Los Angeles Valley College. He was married to Ingrid Taylor from 1976 until they divorced in 1989. He has now been married to Rachelle Carson since 2000. He has three children.
