May 13, 2022 · The City School District of New Rochelle is pleased to announce that New York State has approved the opening of Huguenot Academy, the school district’s alternative high school, at its new 140 Huguenot St. location. “We finally have the home of our own that our students so richly deserve,” said Huguenot Academy Director Andrea Schwach.

The planetarium at New Rochelle High School was completed in 1970 and Martin J. Steinbaum was appointed as its first director.Mr. Steinbaum retired in 1991. Under his direction, an annual holiday show, The Star of Bethlehem, was produced until 2002.
