Himawari 8 was launched by JMA in July 2015 and was installed at PAGASA last December 2015. It is the most utilized satellite imagery in real-time weather forecasting, tropical cyclone analysis and for research purposes as it generates images every 10 minutes. Himawari 9 was launched in November 2016 and started back up operations in March 2017.
This product was part of the collaboration between PAGASA and CWB through the MECO/TECO VOTE Project. Disclaimer: The information contained herein are based on the 6-hourly forecasts of the NCEP-GEFS issued in the past 24hrs where the CWB TC Tracking algorithm was applied and on some climate indicators that are known to affect TC formation and development.

The PAGASA prepares and issues the corresponding Flood Bulletins at the exact time. In the issuance of Flood Bulletins PAGASA uses three (3) assessment levels as guides, namely: ALERT W.L. - corresponds to such river discharge which will not cause flooding in the flood warning zone.
