May 20, 2024 · Zubiri resigned as Senator in 2011 after political enemies accused him of cheating in the previous elections. He subsequently ran in the 2013 elections and lost. He ran again in 2016 and won and was re-elected in 2022.
A trained first aider and certified rescue diver, he is a Governor of the Philippine Red Cross and a member of the Red Cross Youth Committee and the Concerned Divers of the Philippines. Sen. Zubiri has published two books: Philippine Cooperative Code of 2008 and Bukidnon: The Philippine Frontier.
