David Nesta " Ziggy " Marley (born 17 October 1968) is a Jamaican reggae musician. He is the son of reggae icon Bob Marley and Rita Marley. He led the family band Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers until 2002, with whom he released eight studio albums.

Ziggy Marley was born on 17 October 1968 in Kingston, Jamaica. He is a music artist and actor, known for Shark Tale (2004), Into the Blue (2005) and 50 First Dates (2004). He is married to Orly Marley.
With his band the Melody Makers, Ziggy Marley scored his first platinum album with 1988's Conscious Party, which peaked at No. 24. The album also yielded Marley's lone Top 40 hit to date, "Tomorrow People." Marley earned his first career GRAMMY for 1988 for Best Reggae Recording for Conscious Party.
