Polaroid used polarizer technology (an optical filter) to create all sorts of zany products, including 3-D movies and glare-reducing goggles for dogs.

Dec 2, 2016 · In 1932, he co-founded Land-Wheelwright Laboratories with one of his professors, based in Cambridge. The company would later be renamed “Polaroid Corporation” in 1937.
The first Polaroid camera, the Model 95, used a special roll of film made by Kodak. It produced black and white proofs, which took exactly one minute to develop. Land’s process was later improved several times. Colour appeared in 1963.

Apr 10, 2023 · The first camera sold was the Model 95 in November 26. 1948 in a Jordan Marsh department store in Boston, Massachusetts. Polaroid started working with Timex; mostly known for manufacturing timepieces. Roll film as well as pack film cameras were manufactured at their Little Rock, Arkansas plant. In 1958, 4x5 instant sheet film was released.
